Robin is a popular instructor at Santa Fe Community College (SFCC) Media Arts department since 2010. She helped revamp the web program, teaches credit courses in HTML, CSS, Bootstrap Frameworks and trends in Web Design.
Web Design I
Design and build your own website in 16 weeks!
Students learn the fundamentals of web design using the languages of the web: HTML5 and CSS3. Basic web page creation including layout and presentation for optimum browser rendering is covered. In-class, hands-on demos supplement the course topics for optimum exposure to the material. Final project: your own 3-4 page website!

Web Design II
Learn advanced HTML5 / CSS3, Responsive Design and the Bootstrap framework.
This course teaches students to further their skills in code authorship by learning advanced techniques with front-end web languages: HTML5, CSS3, jQuery integration, Responsive design and the Bootstrap framework. Topics include design and usability considerations, limitations and options of the medium, and best practices for the Web.

WordPress.com
For the beginner and those familiar with WP who need demystification!
Create our own website using one of the most popular content management systems (CMS) out there: WordPress. Using the self-hosted version, WordPress.com, learn how to navigate its dashboard, add content to pages and create blog posts, how to create menus, and use all of what this robust, facile blog structure offers. Offered for those looking to develop their web design skills further. Ideal for students who already have a basic understanding of HTML, CSS. Students are expected to have good computer skills. No hosting space or domain name is required for this course.
Pre-requisites:
Students are expected to have good computer skills and be familiar with browsers and the web. Knowledge of Photoshop, HTML and CSS a plus.

Design in the Real World
Planning is everything!
Learn the real world process of planning and developing a layout and graphic design for web pages, or a brand package for yourself or for a client. Topics include: project planning and management, client content needs, organization and initial proposal. Review of graphic fundamentals, user interface, composition and mock ups are also covered. This class has been getting rave reviews from its former students!
